Dr. Paul R. Valbuena

Dr. Paul R. Valbuena is a distinguished psychiatrist, Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, addiction specialist, and the founder of the Valbuena 360 Wellness Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma in 1994 and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Fatima University in Manila, Philippines in 2002. He then completed his Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Michigan State University from 2006 to 2009 and his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training at Maricopa Integrated Health Systems/Maricopa Medical Center from 2009 to 2011.

Dr. Valbuena is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, he is a Certified Bio-identical Hormone provider and a Suboxone Waiver. He is a member of several prestigious medical organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Medical Association, and Arizona Psychiatric Society. Dr. Valbuena has an unrestricted medical license in the state of Arizona and has been licensed by the Arizona DEA since 2009.

About Dr. Valbuena

Dr. Valbuena has held several positions throughout his career. He is currently the Owner and Founder of the Valbuena 360 Wellness Center in Scottsdale, where he also serves as the Lead Physician and Chief Medical Officer. Additionally, he is the Founder and Owner of Bluestone 360 Medical Group, providing medical care to healthcare facilities in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. He also serves as the Corporate Chief Medical Officer for Buena Vista Healthcare and Recovery, which offers addiction treatment services and psychiatric services in much of Southern Arizona. Dr. Valbuena is also the CMO of The Riversource Drug and Addiction, providing consultations as well as at Revive Health and Recovery in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Valbuena has held several past positions, including Chief Medical Officer of Universal Health Services’ Valley Hospital location with a focus on the Women’s Program for Addiction Treatment and Mental Health. In that role, he specialized in PTSD, addiction, and women's health from 2010 to 2020. He was also the President of the Medical Staff, Attending Physician, and Medical Director of the Women's Program at Ascend Behavioral Health from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Valbuena was also the Director of Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment at Sundance Center and Rehab in Scottsdale, AZ, from 2012 to 2013, and Director of Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment at Silkworth Manor Sober Living from 2013 to 2016. He has also served as an Attending Psychiatrist at Jewish Family and Health Services in Phoenix, AZ, from 2009 to 2011 and at Aurora Behavioral Health in Glendale/Tempe from 2009 to 2012.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Valbuena has also had a keen interest in education, having served as a Faculty and Preceptor in the Psychiatry Division at Midwestern University School of Medicine since 2016. His heart is in addiction psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and health and wellness. Dr. Valbuena is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to his patients and is committed to staying current with the latest advances in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
