Hal Nevitt holds independent licensure in Clinical Social Work, and Substance Abuse Counseling, as well as national certification as a Trauma Treatment Professional.
Hal currently directs clinical staff, and operations at Fresh Start Oasis Recovery Center, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Hal has over 30 years of experience assessing, and treating substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring mental health issues.
Hal responded to New York to conduct Critical Incident Debriefings at Ground Zero in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Hal responded to Louisiana to conduct debriefings of those impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Hal recently responded to El Paso, Texas to assist those impacted by the Walmart shooting.
As a Trauma Treatment Professional, Hal is also trained in EMDR therapy, and has experience creating and facilitating trauma treatment groups.
Hal’s professional treatment experience includes working with adolescents, adults, and families that present with substance use disorders, trauma, and mental health issues.
Hal is passionate about sharing his clinical knowledge and experience with others to create a client-centered environment where hope, and opportunity for change abound. Hal also serves as a mental health professional for Critical Incident Peer Support Teams, for First Responders, in the State of Arizona.
A former police officer/narcotics detective, Hal experienced addiction at a personal level and has dedicated his life to assist others in overcoming unhealthy lifestyles, and reclaim lives of meaning, purpose, and value.
